Pokemon GO Sponsored Gifts (aka ad)

As of this post, this feature is being rolled out to Trainers in phases, so not all may receive Sponsored Gifts.

What are Sponsored Gifts?

Sponsored Gifts can't be sent to friends. Instead, it gives items directly to the Trainer who receives them.

Where can you get Sponsored Gifts?

You may receive Sponsored Gifts during your visits to Gyms and Pokestops, along with sponsored messages relevant to your location.

After spinning a Photo Disc at a PokeStop or Gym or after battling in a Raid, a sponsored gift may appear.

How do you open Sponsored Gifts?

If you tap on a Sponsored Gift, you’ll see the logo and name of the sponsor, and you’ll have the choice to open the Gift or exit the screen. You won’t receive any items unless you choose to open the Gift.

Tap “Open a Sponsored Gift!” and you’ll see a sponsored message and items from the Gift in bubbles. Tap the “Learn more” button for more information about the sponsored offer. Once all items in the Gift have appeared, you can exit the screen and the items will be added to your Item Bag.

Is there a limit?

Yes, there is a limit to the number of Sponsored Gifts you can receive in a day, and Trainers aren’t guaranteed to receive a Sponsored Gift from the same Pok├ęStop or Gym as the Gifts are distributed on an individual account basis.

Are you concern about your privacy with Sponsored Gifts?

You can choose to opt-out of this feature by deselecting the “Show Sponsored Gifts” option in the Settings menu. This setting does not affect your ability to obtain Gifts that you can send to friends from sponsored or non-sponsored Gyms or Pok├ęStops.

Reporting Sponsored Message

If a sponsored message features inappropriate content, please let us know. After viewing a sponsored message, tap the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and tap “Report this ad”. Select the reason that best describes why the ad is inappropriate then submit your report.
